Charming Teddy Bear
· Information Team
Strictly speaking, the stuffed bear toys that we generally see nowadays are not considered real teddy bears.
Teddy Bear was originally a separate moniker. To be precise, only bears made between 1903 and 1912 during the presidency of Roosevelt Sr. could be called teddy bears. In 1902, then-President Theodore Roosevelt attended a hunting trip.
As the journey down to no harvest, fellow travelers to appease and curry favor with the president, the pre-caught small black bear is tied to a tree, so that the president can shoot.
Roosevelt could not bear to do it when he saw the innocent and cute look of the already wounded bear cub.
He lowered his gun and said, "It wasn't a fair fight!" He swore on the spot that he would never hunt a black bear again.
The incident was later used as a blueprint for a cartoon drawn by political cartoonist Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. Meadham, a couple who ran a grocery and fruit store in New York, made a small stuffed bear according to the image in the cartoon and placed it in the store for decoration.
Unexpectedly, the bear was quickly purchased. With President Roosevelt's permission, the bear was officially named after the president's nickname, ------Teddy.
A story spawned a cartoon, and a cartoon inspired a couple.
No one could have thought that these seemingly ordinary three small things led to the miracle of the teddy bear's hundred years of glory.
Now, the teddy bear has developed into a generic term for almost all stuffed toy bears.
Its official birth was in 1903 in the United States creative toy company, however, really let the "teddy bear" name in Europe and the United States is widely known, it should be attributed to Germany's Steiff company.
Nowadays, there are hundreds of brands of teddy bears all over the world, the most famous of which is Steiff Company of Germany.
There are also many other famous companies, including GANZ from Canada, Kosen from Germany, Little Gem from the United States, Merrythought from the United Kingdom, AURORA from South Korea, Hermann, Gund, Russ, and other world-famous brands.
Today's teddy bears, like Barbie dolls, are no longer a general concept of toys.
They are given a variety of special commemorative significance, taking on the role of passing on a certain culture.
Especially in Europe and the United States, a teddy bear can be treated as a member of the family, and even accompany a family of three generations to grow up.
